First we listen to you about what needs to be addressed with your equipment. This is written down on a work order. Next we take a good look at your gear and get back to you with our recommendations and an estimate for your approval.

Once we agree on what is to be done and the cost,
we get started.

Before your job is considered complete we perform the following checks and procedures:

•shake/vibration test
•verify proper fuses installed
•clean pots
•check speakers
•check power supplies & output power into rated load
•adjust/evaluate bias setting
•note all corresponding data on your invoice like this:

Ep 467v        (Plate voltage)
g2 467          (Screen grid voltage)
g1 –48          (Control grid bias)
Ip .038A       (measured current per tube)
pD 18 watts  (plate dissipation per tube)

Output Power ~ Load
(output power @ clip into rated load)

•ear test - plug in & play
•operate into simulated load for extended
"burn-in"

If it's going to fail for some reason, we'd much rather have that happen while it's still in our shop. We have a very low return rate, which we believe can be attributed to our "post op" procedures.

If it is a hi-fi or power amp we check freq. Response & THD against  spec., as well as other manufacturer recommended procedures.

If you are in a hurry let us know and we will prioritize your job. Generally we are pretty quick.

Our well-stocked parts inventory as well as our factory affiliations means we can get you back on stage or
in the studio ASAP.
